Abraham was one of the most intelligent humans in our history. He is regarded as the founder of monotheism. He & his contemporary followers created the biggest mind game of all times. He is the creator of GOD & certainly he respected what he created as he believed that this unifying unmaterialisic ideology would ascend human mind to a higher ground. We never had such a great philosopher in the last 4-5 thousand years.
Without hesitation Abraham in obedience to God took his son into the mountains to a place chosen by God and in Faith and love for God offered to sacrifice His ony son by killing him as God asked.
He chose one of the many gods available to him as an exclusive relationship. After all, he was well trained in the gods of Ur of the ancient Sumerians and of his father.
When God called Abraham to come out of Ur, Abraham obeyed and respected God's calling. He went into a land he did not know and where he did not know anyone.
He showed loyalty and faithfulness to God by believing in Him though his culture really doesn't support that belief. He also continued to be loyal to Him even when it took so long before God's promise to him of having his own son was fulfilled. And when he was tested and asked to offer up his only son Isaac, he showed his loyalty and faith to God by doing as he was told.
In Abraham's journey of faith, he never left or turned his back on God. For me, that is true loyalty and respect towards God.

People who blame God for suffering are therefore claiming He exists! Many atheists do this too which is ironic as they claim He doesn't exist. I call it the " Blame God Paradox ".

I'll be the first to admit that it's been a long time since I read the Bible, and this forum is filled with people who know more about the Bible than I do. Which is why I come to you with this question:Satan is the father of all lies. Yet God has told lies in the Bible before. To give an example:...

Hi friendsThe Atheists don’t respect others; they deride followers of all other religions. They assert that respect has to be earned, which is quite wrong.Respect should be a default faculty of man – one earns it simply by birth from the fellow human beings. Not only that every human being should be...

Do you respect your child/ children? How much?As elders, we 'expect' respect from our children/ youngsters. But do we respect them back? Do we get down to their level and try to understand what they have to say? How many times have we overlooked a child's need to speak out? Are we really respecting...

In life, Is it easier to be feared or respected? The people at the top leadership could be either feared or respected.. Stalin and Churchill are two extreme examples of what I am considering. They had other qualities that helped in their rise to the top. People who are not...
